What's The Format?

We're Oldies with Lots of Jingles; however, it's what is between the records that really counts.... At FULL SERVICE WLNG, it's mostly very, very local news, local weather and local information.

In 1963, we were one of the first stations (maybe the very first?) to carefully mix Current Hits with Oldies. In the trades we've been referred to as "probably the original time capsule."


For Remotes and News Gathering, we added this to our little fleet.

45 Years - The Storm Coverage Leader

During hurricanes and storms, ask any local "Bonacker" out on Eastern Long Island and he'll tell you nobody is more relied upon than WLNG RADIO.

One of the big reasons for this is our In-House Color Doppler Radar, which is backed by emergency generators at our studio in Sag Harbor as well as at our FM tower site in Southampton. On Long Island, few other radio stations weather the expense of Doppler....

During major storms, for very local weather, it's thought that WLNG may have close to a 90% share.
