Saturday: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tune in for two minutes, and you’ll realize she isn’t Mandi from the Bronx. The newest addition to the WLNG team, “dancing radio diva” Mandi Norwood hails from Manchester, England, birthplace of Oasis, Happy Mondays, Joy Division, Swing out Sister and more. She kicked off her career in journalism on local newspapers then moved on to fashion magazines, covering the pop culture beat, and conducting the first interviews with music newcomers such as Sade and Everything But The Girl. At 25, Mandi became the youngest ever women’s magazine editor-in-chief in Britain before graduating to Editor in Chief of U.K Cosmopolitan and then Mademoiselle in the U.S. A firm believer in mixing business with pleasure, Mandi spent seven years as Editorial Director at Niche Media, overseeing a stable of luxe publications, including Gotham, Ocean Drive, Aspen Peak, LA Confidential and Hamptons magazine. Gorgeous beaches, great food, the loveliest people, and 92.1, the East End’s Best Music (and listeners!) have all aligned to anchor Mandi in East Hampton with her husband, two cheeky terriers, and two amazing grown-up daughters who do not need to be persuaded to visit long and often.
