Brian “The Cannon” Bannon
On Air/ Chief Engineer, Operations Manager Weekdays: Mon, Tues, Thurs 11:00-3:00 PM Weekdays: Mon-Fri 5:00- 6:00 PM Just a year old, Brian Bannon made his WLNG debut and met Paul Sidney at the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce Love Lane Street Fair with family. But he wouldn't truly realize his destiny until he visited the Redwood Causeway studios at 5 years old with his father who recorded a public service announcement. After years of making music requests, birthday announcements and stopping by remote broadcasts, Brian asked Paul if he could learn the business as an intern. Paul agreed and his internship started in February 1993 when he was a Junior at Mattituck High School. While attending college in Rhode Island, Brian couldn't escape the WLNG bug and continued to work at WLNG part time as well as Clear Channel Broadcasting in Providence, Hartford and Springfield. Brian returned full time to WLNG in October 2000 and is our broadcast and computer engineer, operations manager and air personality. As "The Resident Geek", Brian has been responsible for improving and updating the facility with latest technology, mostly turning things off and on again. In his free time Brian is a photographer, web developer and technology hound.
