Connie Conway info@wlng.com ¨Connie on the Cove¨ aka Connie Conway
Connie is a veteran Radio and TV Reporter who started her career at the age of 19 as a DJ for a small station in Willimantic, Connecticut.. She worked in various markets around the country including stints in Phoenix and Boston before returning to her native Long Island. She spent several years at News 12 Long Island winning numerous awards for covering major stories including the East End wildfires and 9-11.
She also worked for various radio stations on Long Island including WALK FM and WLIU-FM, the NPR station in Southampton, now known as WLIW FM
Connie taught Broadcast Journalism for the School of Communication and Journalism at Stony Brook University and she still works with students who are just discovering their talents.
She recently retired from the Town of Southampton where she served as Chief of Staff for the Supervisor, Director of Communications for the Town and Executive Director and creator of SUN20 TV, the Public Access station.
But she was not ready for the rocking chair! So, she decided to return to her radio roots and we are delighted to have her at Vintage Radio, WLNG. You can hear Connie on various shifts playing the tunes she grew up with! And she loves taking requests from our loyal listeners.
